I've used Jim's walk-in services maybe 3 or 4 times, all professional and very-competent performance. The most memorable: about 3 years after moving to Richmond, I took a house key to them: the key WORKED, but I had to jiggle the doorknob sometimes. They explained that they took calipers to the old key (probably a copy-of-a-copy X 3 or 4 times) From the calipers, they could interpret what the ORIGINAL key was, then cut a key PRECISELY - it works super-smoothly ever since! Went back for 5 more copies... What a bargain!

This is a horrible place. they lost my lock, and then said it wasn’t their fault! He left it unlocked on my hitch, he was the last person to touch it! I don’t know whose fault he thought it was! I wish I could give them a zero or a minus 10 . I went to tractor supply and paid $18.00 for a new one. My loss. 18 dollars isn’t the end of the world, but it’s just the idea of it.

Jim's Lock and Key Service is open Monday thru Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Emergency Services only after regular business hours. We do expect credit cards.

Extremely professional. This man knows what he is doing! Broken safe, combination not working and he was able to drill in, retrieve unharmed contents and even repair the safe back to working order. The most amazing part is they quit making this particular safe or parts 40 years ago and he was still able to repair it.

He was prompt with correspondence/scheduling/arrival and waited for me to view contents first.

Another locksmith tried for 5 hours and could not complete the task that Jim did in less than 30 min. Far beyond 5 stars, I was very impressed. He is fair priced but worth every penny and more.
