Gave me a quote, totally 3xs what the item actually cost. Tried to say need to pay upfront as company he orders from doesn’t take credit or debit cards? When asking friends and neighbors about him, I was told he tried to get money upfront from them as well and in one instance got quite a chunk of money and now avoids them and never did the job.

Ditto what Syb said above. We had Randy order a safe for our home. He said he needed pre-payment for the company. We gave him just over $1000 and never saw the safe. After several lame excuses, we told him to cancel the whole thing and give us a refund. After hounding him and showing up on his doorstep, we got $200, but no replies to our calls and emails after that.

Mr. Barton changed the locks on our home. Some of these locks were very old-fashioned with deep barrels/chambers. He changed the locks with premium products (as requested) that are bump-proof so that we have a higher sense of security. He also installed an up-to-date security system that we can access from our phones. He was courteous, efficient, and expert in his care. We are thankful for his service.

Be careful with this company and specifically Randy Barton of Starlite Security. We hired him to replace the locks at our house. Randy told us they don't take credit cards and needed a deposit. We gave him a $500 check. The job cost less than $400 and he never reimbursed us for the difference. Do not hire him.
